5 Vegan DIY Face Masks for Glowing Skin

This particular face mask is made up of cucumbers, mint, and lemons. These ingredients combined give the best blast of refreshment for our traumatized skins. The vitamin C content and mint leaves give a cooling effect and hydrate the face after being exposed to external factors. Most importantly, the acidic nature of lemons provides an acne-free zone for our skins.

To make this mask, grate half a cucumber, and mix it with one teaspoon of lemon juice and 2-3 crushed mint leaves. Once you’ve mixed, apply the mask on for 20 minutes and wash it off with cold water.

3) Banana Face Mask

Bananas are not the most popular when asked about people’s favorite fruits. It’s usually fruits like watermelons and berries that they enjoy the most. If you’re one of those people, then your favorite fruit is about to change to bananas once you try this banana face mask.

The DIY vegan banana face mask is soothing for the skin because of vitamin A in bananas. The additional ingredient, cinnamon of this recipe, also promotes collagen production – an effective antioxidant.

For this mask, mash a ripe banana and mix its pulpy contents with half a cup of cooked oats, a drop of lemon, and one-fourth teaspoon of cinnamon. Leave the mask on for 5-15 minutes. 

4) Vitamin C Face Mask

For someone who spends a lot of time outdoors, this remedy is perfect for protecting their skin from long-term damage. Since people working outside get subjected to harsh weather conditions, such as extreme sunny weather, they need to be more prompt at protecting their skin as it is more prone to getting damaged. For this, the perfect ingredient is vitamin C.

So then, how to get a homemade face mask packed with vitamin C?

You can use either of the two – sweet potatoes or carrots. Take one-third cup of one of these two vegetables and steam and mash them. Then, mix that with one teaspoon of orange peel and apply it to your skin for 5-15 minutes. 

5) Banana and Turmeric Face Mask

Bananas keep proving to be an essential asset for a perfect DIY vegan face mask, and this time, it is paired with turmeric to brighten your skin beautifully.

Besides brightening your skin, it helps overcome your biggest fear of having potential breakouts by containing anti-bacterial elements. Because of the coronavirus, constantly wear masks also accumulates sweat and humidity on the face, making the skin oily. This face mask prevents this from happening by controlling excessive sebum production and reducing the size of skin pores.

To achieve these goals, take two tablespoons of mashed banana and mix it with half a teaspoon turmeric powder and a pinch of baking soda. Once mixed, apply it on your face until the mask dries, and then wash it with lukewarm water.
